Pak-Indo-Chinese crisis part-1
Considering the gravity of the situation, I have only taken Pak-India-China bordering regions for my further discussion given that India and China still have many disputed regions in Arunachal state and regions adjacent to Nepal and Bhutan border. But this discussion will primarily focus on Pak-India-China.
At first, we need a summary of different lines among three nations and gist of regions claimed or ceded by any country.
1. Durand line: This line actually separates Pakistan and Afghanistan.
2. Line of control (LOC): it separates India control Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan controlled Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. This is not an international line rather dividing a princely state (discussed later).
3. Line of actual control (LAC): like LOC, LAC also plays as de facto border line, separating Jammu and Kashmir from Aksai Chin, administered by China.
Here important thing is that, these regions - including, Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Aksai China and some other regions – once constituted the princely state: larger Jammu and Kashmir.
Note 1: Under Sino-Pak agreement in 1963, Pakistan ceded an area of 1942 sq km to China but this region is also claimed by India.
Note 2: Siachen Glacier is the region that was snatched by India in 1984. This region is believed to be the highest battleground on earth (20000 ft above the sea level).
