Employability gap: causes and effect in Bangladesh
The employability gap denotes the distinction between the demand of an employer and the skill of an applicant willing to join in the institution . Nowadays in Bangladesh, a copious number of fresh graduates remain unemployed while the workplaces remain vacant. A common phenomenon is perpetrated all over the country that no space for a job for the fresh graduates on the contrary different multinational companies blaming that they do not get appropriate candidates suitable for the post comprising all the skills required. Mike Kazi, the chairman of Kazi IT Centre Limited, an online-based freelancing company working for many developed countries- alleged that candidates have not enough skill they desire: consequently most of their positions remain vacant despite offering a high salary with comfortable office hour.
Due to not attending skills and facing some problems mentioned below the gap is creating and both the parties are suffering from.
0) the first and utmost reason behind the employability gap is the wrong choice of job field not relating to the skills they have. Many a time applicant suitable for the rudimentary level job applied for a middle-class job and so the candidate having the quality of mid-class applied for the upper class.
1) apart from obtaining knowledge regarding jobs or vocation, the peoples in Bangladesh are involving enthusiastically to collect certificates which has no value in the job market without having skills
2) because of the inadequate skill, maximum of the applicants wants to engage in the job field requires no extra pragmatic knowledge but in reality such kind of the job field is rare.
3) social status plays a pivotal role as a catalyst which impedes the middle-class student doing labour oriented task.
4) In the era of Science and communication, it is a must to have the skills to communicate someone over internet but a matter of concern is that maximum of the graduate don't even know how to apply for the job. They are not concerned about their skills related to desired job field.
The employers finding no skilled applicants are facing some problems attached below in account of the job market in Bangladesh.
A) companies like KITC faces problems of not getting skilled employee and so why they can't reach the goal fulfilling the customer Desire.
B) To fulfil the needs securing the company's benefit, the maximum of the companies hire foreign employees who are much more skilled than that of we
C) because of hiring foreign officers the country losses an affluent amount of GDP every year that claims almost half of the Gross Domestic product.
